Twitter in 2010

100 Million New Users

In 2010 Twitter signed on more that 100 million new users. And as the number of Twitter users grows, the usage of Twitter by existing users is also growing.

Twenty-one percent of Twitters users are following more that 100 people. That is an increase of 7% over last year. And sixteen percent have over 100 followers.

The average Twitter user is still a newbie. Over 80 percent of the users have fewer than 500 tweets. And 22 percent of the users are responsible for 90 percent of the tweets.
